We’re excited to announce that we’ll be heading back to Friends Seminary School again this year to bring our Mother’s Comfort Project to their Day of Service. This year we’ve added a special feature on homeless birds, by bringing along the expertise of the Avian Welfare Coalition.
So this year, as well as us teaching students how to sew beds and catnip toys for dogs and cats in need, the Avian Welfare Coalition will show them how to make toys for birds in captivity. At the end of the day, students will deliver beds to the cats at Kitty Kind in Petco, Union Square and the bird toys will be taken to Foster Parrots, a sanctuary for large birds.
